EK HEALTH RECEIVES URAC RE-ACCREDITATION

High quality standards in Utilization Review for Worker’s Comp
part of company’s mission

 

SAN JOSE, California – February 1, 2012 - EK Health Services, a national workers’ compensation management company, announced today that it has been awarded re-accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.

EK Health has been URAC accredited since 2005 and is licensed to perform Utilization Review in states across the country. EK Health most recently added the State of Nevada, attaining that state’s External Review Organization license.

“We are pleased to again receive the stamp of approval from an organization so important to our industry,” said Eunhee Kim, CEO of EK Health. “A vital part of our mission is to provide reliable and high quality standards in our UR process, so we are pleased to see this validated by URAC.”

According to Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO, by applying for and receiving Workers' Compensation Utilization Management, Version 5.0, Accreditation, EK Health has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care.

“Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards,” Spielman said.
