San Jose, CA -- EK Health Services, Inc., a leader in California Workers’ Compensation managed care services, announces their new online ergonomics training program. Developed as an inter-disciplinary joint effort involving nurse case managers, physical therapists, specialized occupational medicine physicians, information technology professionals and educators, it allows employees to learn about safe workplace practices at their own pace, from the convenience of their computer. “The program is cost-effective, eliminating the need for off-site and formal training, while decreasing the risk of work-related ergonomic injuries,” stated EK Health Chief Medical Officer and Occupational Medicine Physician, Richard Thompson, MD. The content of the on-line course helps businesses meet the Cal/OSHA and Fed OSHA Guidelines for ergonomics training for employees and simplifies tracking for employers.
“Our online ergonomics training program makes your job easy,” said Pam Dannenberg, RN, COHN-S, CAE, Ergonomic and Occupational Health Services Manager at EK Health Services. “Tell us how many participants you want to enroll, and we will provide you with the passwords. You don't have to do anything else. The participants and our computer will do the rest. Participant progress reports will be available on-line.”
Topics covered include: Introduction to Ergonomics, Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs), Causes of CTDs and Problem Areas, Ergonomics in the Work Place, Exercises and Stretch Breaks, and Workstation Checklist.
